Tillington Cricket Pitch

Tillington Cricket Club

Tillington Cricket Club is a small club based in the splendid pavilion on the recreation ground adjacent to the Upperton Road. The Club has enjoyed solid village support since its inception in 1785. With arguably the best views of any pitch in the south of England, the ground has been used as a filming location by the BBC, and is thought to be setting of a well-known 1920s novel (The Cricket Match by Hugh de Selincourt). Cricket is played most Sunday afternoons from April to September, and the Club is widely know for its friendliness and for the quality of the teas!

New members are always welcome, from all ages and levels of experience. Spectators are also most welcome.

The Cricket Club also holds Easter and Christmas bingo in Tillington Village Hall to raise funds both for the Club and local charities. All are welcome to these bi-annual bingo evenings.

For any enquiries, whether you would like to get involved at Tillington or organise a match against us, please contact our match secretary, Quinn Murray. If you would like to book the pitch for a match of your own, please contact Jean Huggett, the clerk of the parish council.
