Parish Magazine

The Three Parishes Magazine has a long history going back decades. It comes under the umbrella of All Hallows Tillington but is distributed, free of charge, to every household in the three parishes of Tillington, Duncton and Upwaltham. Over 5,000 copies are produced 10 times a year and it is also made available online on the All Hallows website. The costs involved are up to approximately £5,000 a year and these are covered by the advertising revenue. If a profit is made then contributions are made to the church, the village hall and occasionally extra projects such as the restoration fund for the little downland church at Upwaltham.

None of this happens without a great deal of work behind the scenes. An editorial team meet twice monthly to gather the content together and the magazine is then put together to produce the excellent copy that drops onto our doormats. The printing is outsourced and sent off digitally and then delivered back to us by courier. Once again, this seamless operation involves much work in the background with sorting out the various delivery slots and the army of willing volunteers who make sure each household receives their copy. A management group also meet three times a year to oversee the budget and advertising and generally check everything is running smoothly.

You may have noticed I have not put names to this – there are too many to mention and I would be sure to miss someone out! I know the team would also add that the magazine can only function when we all contribute articles and keep it alive.

Please keep reading it, use it next time you want to find a tradesperson and let them know where you saw their advertisement and keep sending in those articles to 3parishesmagazine@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
