TLC is a relatively new initiative in Tillington, having been formed for everybody’s use in September 2009.
The letters ‘TLC’, standing for Tillington Local Care, are also a happy (deliberate) coincidence as our mission is to distribute TLC!
We are a group dedicated to helping anyone in need in a whole range of ways. These include transporting villagers by car, hospital appointments, financial and grant advice, wheelchairs and help for the disabled, as well as general support and advice.
The majority of calls for help are requests for transport for medical or hospital appointments. Despite sometimes receiving two or three calls a week, we have, so far, not had to let anyone down.
In addition, we are able to offer help and advice in accessing local care services, mobility aids, and necessary home modifications such as hand rails, stair lifts, and bathroom fittings.
We can give advice on social benefits and food banks, and we can arrange to collect prescriptions if you are unable to do it yourself.
TLC owns a wheelchair which can be loaned out, together with shallow ramps if needed.
All you need is our telephone number: 07910 234862. If we can’t take your call immediately, please leave a message and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
Just to remind you this service is run by volunteers and is totally free to you. All costs (petrol, telephone, printing etc.) are met by grant sponsorship and voluntary donations.
