Vacancy for Clerk to Tillington Parish Council

JEAN HUGGETT IS RETIRING AND A NEW CLERK IS SOUGHT TO START IMMEDIATELY. WORKING WITH AND REPORTING TO CHAIRMAN OF THE PARISH COUNCIL AND OTHER COUNCILLORS.

A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO CONTRIBUTE TO OUR VILLAGE COMMUNITY. THE KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE DELIVERED WITHIN FLEXIBLE AND HOME WORKING HOURS ARE

  • CLERK SIX MEETINGS OF THE PARISH COUNCIL PER YEAR AND ONE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PARISH.
  • PREPARE AND AGREE SIMPLE ANNUAL BUDGET WITH FINANCE COMMITTEE, RECEIVE AND PAY INVOICES, MANAGE BANK ACCOUNTS, MONITOR AND REPORT TO COUNCILLORS, ARRANGE EXTERNAL AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS AND APPLY FOR ANNUAL PRECEPT FROM CHICHESTER DISTRICT COUNCIL.
  • KEEP A RECORD OF PHYSICAL PROPERTY AND WORKING WITH ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE COUNCILLORS ARRANGE FOR REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE.
  • FORWARD PLANNING APPLICATIONS TO THE PLANNING COMMITTEE COUNCILORS AND RESPOND ON BEHALF OF PARISH COUNCIL THROUGH SDNP PLANING PORTAL.
  • LIASE WITH COUNTY AND DISTRICT COUNCILLORS, PREPARE NOTICES FOR COUNCILLOR ELECTIONS AND CONDUCT ELECTIONS AS REQUIRED.
  • PROMOTE AND MANAGE BOOKINGS FOR THE RECREATION GROUND AND PAVILION. LIASE WITH PETWORTH CRICKET CLUB ON PITCH BOOKINGS. ARRANGE CLEANING OF PAVILION.
  • REVIEW AND ARRANGE INSURANCE FOR TILLINGTON PARISH COUNCIL.

THIS IS A PAID POSITION WITH SALARY GUIDANCE PROVIDED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LOCAL COUNCILS. CURRENTLY PAY SCALE 11.

MAXIMUM ANNUAL STIPEND IS £4000 PER YEAR AND AN AVERAGE OF 5.5 HOURS PER WEEK EXPECTED TO COVER THE ROLE.
