All Hallows Church
All Hallows has been in Tillington for a very long time! In the 1180’s a stone church was built on this site and some of it remains today in the south aisle. There has been a worshipping community here ever since.
Our passion is to grow together in the love of Christ as we seek to serve others. This is outworked in holding services that are relevant across the age range in our rural community, praying together, eating together, learning together and constantly looking for ways in which we can serve our community.
Part of this service is to facilitate and enable people to mark some of the key turning points in life which include baptism, marriage and funerals and by maintaining our beautiful and peaceful cemetery. It is a great honour to be able to be a part of such important events in the lives of our community.
We also hold a responsibility to look after our beautiful building which is quite a costly business. This means that at times we have to ask for help as the upkeep of a Grade 1 listed building is a far bigger task than our congregation can handle on its own. We are deeply grateful for the way our village comes together to help us with this in supporting the annual Christmas Fair and other fundraising events throughout the year.
We are also responsible for contributing our share of costs to the Diocese for the support of the clergy and the wider administrative costs of parishes. We are so grateful for the faithful sacrificial giving of so many people over the years that has made this possible.
Have a look at the All Hallows website to find out more, and do get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
